Block 1: Writing your personal paragraph for your family tree project
______________________________________________________________
Do Now
- The paragraph below is an example of the paragraph you will need to do for your project about yourself. Your class work for today is to write your own personal paragraph about yourself. You will find a checklist in your project packet. For those of you that have misplaced your packets or did not receive one because of the snow day, you can locate personal paragraph requirements on my website. Before you write your own paragraph, let’s read an example and then answer the questions that follow. I have included a couple of helpful websites to help you as you write your paragraph today in class.
——————————————————————————————-
¡Hola! Me llamo Ana y tengo quince años.

Here is today’s agenda for you:
1. Do Now: ( 10 mins)
- Paragraph and Questions
2. Write your paragraph about yourself for your project in your project packet or a separate piece of paper. (15 mins)
- Use the example from today’s do now to help you structure your own paragraph. You should feel free to include additional information, but please make sure that you do now have less than 10 sentences.
- All 10 sentences must be original. You may not use an online translator to translate complete sentences. It is VERY obvious when students do this. Any students suspected of cheating in this manner will not only have to redo the work, but will be asked to do additional sentences.
- You may use the computer to look up additional vocabulary words. I have posted 2 links on my webpage that have additional adjectives that you may want to use to describe yourself or your family members.
3. Type your paragraph: (15 mins)
- Once you have written your personal paragraph, please present it to your teacher and then you will be able to log onto to type your paragraph. You may e-mail these to yourself at the end of class. I will ask to see these completed for tomorrow.
4. Sketch your project on a separate piece of paper: (5-10 mins)
- This paper will be collected at the end of class, but I would like to see your plans for your project. This will also help you begin to think about how you plan to present your family to us on paper. Remember, this is an important project and a great way for you to share the important people of your live.
5. Homework:
Projects will be due this Thursday, you will have time in class on Wednesday to work on your project so bring any materials you might need to work on your project. For example you may want to bring the poster and construction paper. Anything you planned to use to create your project. I will provide scissors and glue.
6. When you finish:
- After you have complete your Project Sketch and your Personal Paragraph, you may visit my website to play any of the practice exercises or practice alphabet, numbers, colors, days of the week, months of the year…. It is never too late to take these tests and in fact you will be required to say them before the end of the year
